Beyond Strong
Stronger Bodies. Healthier Minds. More Confident Teens.
Beyond strong
MORE THAN A WORKOUT. MORE THAN THERAPY.
What if your teen could build physical strength and emotional resilience at the same time?
The teenage years can be challenging. Between academic pressure, friendships, social media, family expectations, and the emotional ups and downs of adolescence, teens often struggle with stress, anxiety, self-esteem, motivation, and confidence.
Traditional talk therapy can be incredibly beneficial, but sometimes teens need something more engaging than sitting on a couch talking about their feelings.
That's where Mind & Muscle comes in.
Mind & Muscle for Teens is an innovative program that combines psychotherapy and personalized physical fitness in the same session, helping adolescents strengthen their bodies while developing the emotional and psychological skills they need to thrive.
Because feeling stronger physically can be one powerful part of learning to feel stronger emotionally.
What if your teen could build confidence, develop healthier coping skills, and discover their strengths—all while getting moving?
Parenting a teenager who struggles with ADHD, anxiety, emotional outbursts, or low self-esteem can be exhausting. You see their potential, but you also see how difficult everyday challenges can become.
Maybe your teen:
Gets overwhelmed by seemingly small frustrations.
Struggles to stay motivated or follow through on goals.
Has difficulty managing anger, anxiety, or intense emotions.
Gives up easily when something feels challenging.
Constantly criticize themselves or believe they're not good enough.
Has trouble sitting still, staying engaged, or opening up in traditional therapy.
Avoids new experiences because they're afraid of failing.
More Than a Workout. More Than Therapy.
THERAPY THAT GETS TEENS MOVING
Where Movement Meets Mental Wellness.
Mind & Muscle for Teens combines psychotherapy and personalized fitness training in the same session, offering an engaging, interactive approach to emotional wellness and personal growth.
Instead of merely discussing managing frustration, overcoming challenges, or building confidence, teens can practice these skills through movement and physical activities.
We tailor each session to your teen's emotional needs, physical abilities, and personal goals.
It's therapy that meets teens where they are—mentally, emotionally, and physically.

DESIGNED FOR TEENS WHO STRUGGLE WITH...
ADHD: Building Focus, Motivation & Follow-Through
Teens with ADHD often struggle with executive functioning, emotional regulation, frustration tolerance, and staying motivated.
Mind & Muscle incorporates structured activities that provide opportunities to practice:
Setting realistic goals and breaking tasks into manageable steps.
Following instructions and completing activities.
Managing frustration when something becomes difficult.
Developing patience, persistence, and flexibility.
Recognizing accomplishments and building confidence.
Therapeutic strategies are integrated into these experiences to help teens connect what they're learning with challenges at school, home, and in their relationships.
ANXIETY: Learning to Face Challenges With Confidence
For teens struggling with anxiety, everyday situations can feel overwhelming. Fear of failure, perfectionism, and avoidance can prevent them from trying new things.
Mind & Muscle provides a supportive environment where teens can:
Practice approaching manageable challenges instead of automatically avoiding them.
Recognize anxious thoughts and unhelpful thinking patterns.
Learn coping strategies for managing stress and uncertainty.
Develop greater confidence in their ability to handle discomfort.
Celebrate effort and progress rather than perfection.
The goal isn't to eliminate anxiety. It's to help teens learn that they can experience anxiety and still move forward.
EMOTIONAL DYSREGULATION: Turning Frustration Into Growth
Some teens experience emotions so intensely that even small disappointments can lead to anger, shutdowns, or emotional outbursts.
Through personalized activities and psychotherapy, teens can practice:
Recognizing early signs of emotional escalation.
Pausing before reacting.
Using breathing, grounding, and coping strategies.
Managing frustration and disappointment.
Developing greater emotional awareness and self-control.
Recovering from setbacks without giving up.
Movement creates opportunities to notice emotions as they arise and practice responding differently, with guidance and support.
LOW SELF-ESTEEM: Discovering Strength From Within
Teens who struggle with low self-esteem often focus on what they can't do rather than recognizing what they're capable of.
Mind & Muscle encourages teens to:
Identify personal strengths.
Challenge negative self-talk.
Set achievable goals.
Recognize improvement and effort.
Develop a healthier relationship with their bodies.
Build confidence through meaningful accomplishments.
Sometimes the most important progress isn't what a teen can lift, how fast they can move, or how long they can exercise. It's the moment they begin believing in themselves.
MORE THAN A WORKOUT. MORE THAN TALK THERAPY.
Real-Life Lessons Through Movement
Physical challenges can create opportunities to explore the same emotional patterns teens experience in everyday life.
For example:
When an exercise feels difficult: We can explore frustration tolerance, negative self-talk, and perseverance.
When a teen wants to give up: We can practice breaking challenges into smaller, manageable steps.
When something doesn't go as planned: We can work on flexibility, emotional regulation, and coping with disappointment.
When a teen compares themselves to others: We can address perfectionism, self-esteem, and personal growth.
When a teen accomplishes something challenging: We can reinforce confidence, self-efficacy, and recognition of progress.
These experiences create opportunities to practice therapeutic skills in real time, rather than simply discussing how to use them later.
The goal isn't to create better athletes. It's to help teens develop healthier minds, stronger coping skills, and greater confidence in themselves.
PERSONALIZED FOR YOUR TEEN
No Two Teens Are Alike. Their Therapy Shouldn't Be Either.
Mind & Muscle is tailored to each teen's emotional needs, fitness level, physical abilities, and personal goals.
Sessions may incorporate age-appropriate strength training, functional movement, stretching, balance, coordination, and other suitable fitness activities alongside evidence-informed therapeutic interventions.
We recognize that every teen has a different starting point. Activities can be adapted to accommodate individual limitations, injuries, chronic health concerns, or other physical considerations when clinically appropriate.
There is no expectation to perform at a certain level, achieve a particular appearance, or compete with anyone else.
Progress is personal.
WHY COMBINE PSYCHOTHERAPY WITH FITNESS?
Because Growth Happens Through Experience.
Imagine your teen becoming frustrated during a challenging activity. In a traditional therapy session, you might discuss managing frustration. In Mind & Muscle, that frustration can become an opportunity to practice emotional regulation, flexible thinking, positive self-talk, and perseverance in the moment. The therapist helps your teen recognize what they're feeling and develop healthier ways to respond. These experiences can then be connected to situations they encounter in everyday life.
It's an opportunity to take therapeutic skills off the couch and put them into practice.
NOT EVERY TEEN CONNECTS WITH TRADITIONAL TALK THERAPY
Some teenagers struggle to explain how they feel. Others become uncomfortable when conversations focus entirely on their emotions. For teens who enjoy movement or benefit from a more interactive setting, Mind & Muscle may offer a different way to engage in psychotherapy. The physical activities are personalized and supportive, and they are never intended to create competition or pressure. No athletic experience is required.
PERSONALIZED TO YOUR TEEN
Whether your teen is physically active or just starting to explore fitness, we can adapt sessions to their abilities, needs, and interests. Our focus is on emotional well-being, healthy movement, confidence, and skill development that extends beyond the session. Individual sessions and clinically appropriate small-group options may be offered.
HELP YOUR TEEN BUILD STRENGTH THAT GOES BEYOND THE GYM
Confidence. Resilience. Emotional Strength. Real-Life Skills.
Your teen doesn't have to be an athlete to benefit from movement, and they don't have to love traditional talk therapy to start developing healthier coping skills. Mind & Muscle combines psychotherapy with personalized fitness to create opportunities for meaningful growth—inside and out.
Helping teens feel stronger isn't just about building muscle. It's about helping them discover what they're capable of.
